When Julio Videa Alavez first dreamed of starting his own printing business in Evansville, Indiana, he knew it wouldn’t be easy. Like many aspiring entrepreneurs, Julio faced barriers to accessing traditional financing. But he refused to let those obstacles stop him.

With determination and the support of CDFI Friendly Evansville Region, Julio connected with two community development financial institutions (CDFIs) who believed in his vision. Through their partnership, Julio secured the funding he needed — not only to grow his successful photobooth business, TriState Photo, but also to launch his long-awaited dream: JVA Prints & Signs.

Today, JVA Prints & Signs proudly operates at 3301 N. First Avenue in Evansville, offering high-quality printing and signage services to the community. Julio’s journey is a powerful reminder that with perseverance, partnership, and the right support, dreams can become thriving local businesses.
